Dr. Robert & Cathy Parsley

Dr. Robert Parsley, originally from Eastern Kentucky, graduated from Auburn University Veterinary School in 2003, and shortly thereafter moved to Mount Juliet. He opened Countryside Animal Hospital in 2007. He and his wife Cathy have two dogs and two cats. He enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling.  
*At this time Dr. Parsley is RETIRED  
Cathy is from central Kentucky and has called Mount Juliet home for almost twenty years. She began her career as a human nurse and now assists in running the clinic’s daily operations and behind-the-scenes work. Dr. Parsley and Cathy attend First Baptist Church Mount Juliet. Her favorite time of year is Kentucky Basketball season. Go Wildcats!  

Dr. Rachel E. Day

Dr. Day, a Mt. Juliet native, graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville Veterinary School in 2010 and then began her career at Countryside. She has two cats and one dog. She enjoys reading, cooking, and road trips. 

Dr. David Lewis

Dr. David Lewis, originally from Lexington, Kentucky, graduated from Auburn University Veterinary School in 2009 and joined our practice in 2013. His family has three dogs, two cats, and two guinea pigs. He enjoys triathlons, being outdoors, volunteering with the Wilson County Disaster Animal Response Team (DART), and spending time with his family.

Dr. Jessica Huffman Gilliam

Dr. Jessica Huffman Gilliam, originally from Ohio, has called Tennessee home since 2001 and graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville Veterinary School in 2011 then began her career here at Countryside. She has one cat and two dogs. She enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending time with her family. 

Dr. Octavia Darwin

Dr. Octavia Darwin, originally from New York, graduated from UT Knoxville’s Veterinary School in 2018. She and her husband have 2 dogs (both rescues), a turtle and a snake. They currently attend Cross Point Church. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, piano, and travel. She enjoys getting to help all the pets at Countryside and meeting the owners who love them.

Dr. Juliana Santiago

Dr. Juliana Santiago grew up in Franklin, TN and graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. She has two dogs named Todd and Lucy and a horse named Winston. In her free time, Dr. Santiago enjoys riding her horse, doing any outdoor activity, watching baseball, and spending time adventuring with her friends around Nashville. She is very excited to develop long-lasting relationships with both clients and patients!  

Dr. Molly White

Dr. Molly White, originally from rural west Tennessee, attended the University of Tennessee Knoxville for both her undergraduate and vet school careers (Go Vols!). She is our newest doctor to join the Countryside family. She has two dogs, Sunny and Tuck, who keep her on her toes. In her free time, she enjoys all things Dolly Parton, reading, traveling, and anything outdoors with her dogs. Dr. White is extremely excited to join our team and looks forward to the connections and relationships she will build with clients and their pets!

Office Manager


Gerri has been with Countryside since 2008. She has experience as a human pharmacy technician, and her knowledge has carried over into the veterinary field. She excels at paying attention to details when caring for your pets. She has three dogs, two cats, and several chickens. What she enjoys most about working for Countryside are the pets. 



Debbie has been with the Countryside family since 2009. Her primary role is a receptionist, and she also prepares our sympathy cards when your pet passes away and truly takes this task to heart. She is a native of Mt. Juliet with a cat and fish pond. Debbie enjoys cooking, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family (especially her grandsons). What Debbie enjoys most about working at Countryside is meeting all the people and their furry families. 


Kayla joined us in 2014. Though now a receptionist, she has several years of experience in various roles of the veterinary field. She is from Lebanon and has a Bachelors in Animal Science from MTSU. She and her husband have a cat and two daughters. She enjoys camping, organization, sewing/crafting, and reading. What Kayla enjoys most about working at Countryside is that everyone is treated like family: with compassion and kindness. 


Heather began August 2020. She was born and raised in Nashville. She studied at the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology. She enjoys spending time with her cat, dog and family. The best part of working here is how we have made her feel at home, and that we get to help families and their furbabies.


Tyesha joined our receptionist team August 2020. She is originally from Mississippi- The Hospitality State and went to the University of Southern Mississippi. She has two dogs and two cats. She enjoys working out, hiking and spending time with her family. She says that CAH has a wonderful staff that keeps things fun and fresh. It’s shown daily how much we love our jobs and the pets in the community we serve. This makes the job so much easier especially in these times.

Erin has been with Countryside since opening day in 2007 as a veterinary technician. Her primary roles are performing dental cleanings and maintaining our laboratory equipment. She is originally from Maryland and moved to Mt. Juliet in the early ’90s. Erin has a Bachelor’s in Animal Science from MTSU. Erin owns seven cats and two dogs, as well as caring for strays around her home. She enjoys gardening/landscaping and shopping. Erin is very much a cat person and loves caring for them here at Countryside. 


Sue has also been with Countryside since our opening in 2007. Her primary roles are surgical assistant and caring for our clinic cats. She is originally from Washington state. Sue currently has five cats and loves playing with them, reading, and shopping (especially online). Sue is a cat fanatic and caring for them is her favorite thing to do at Countryside.  


Whitney joined our team in 2009. She is originally from New Jersey and obtained her Veterinary Technician license from Vol State. She has three dogs and one cat at home. Whitney enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and watching movies. While at work, she enjoys being with the animals all day at Countryside. 


Kristen began with us in March 2016. She is a hometown girl and is attending Vol State right now. She has two dogs and enjoys dancing and spending time with family and friends. Kristen’s favorite part of her job is seeing all the puppies that come to Countryside, as well as working with her fellow co-workers. 


Holly has been with the Countryside family since 2016. She is a Mt. Juliet native and attended the Vet Tech program at Vol State. She and her husband have recently adopted two dogs. She loves anything outdoors, spending time with family, and reading. Holly likes the family atmosphere here at Countryside. 


Jessica has been with Countryside since August 2017. She is from Nashville and attended Wilson Central High School. She has an American Bulldog who she enjoys taking to dog parks as well as a bearded dragon named Jared. In her spare time she also enjoys watching Netflix and canoeing. She enjoys working with her teammates and learning new skills here at Countryside. 


Giovanna is originally from Fort Campbell and began with Countryside in January 2019. She recently graduated from Vol State with her Veterinary Assistant degree. She has a dog named Buck Rowdy. In her spare time, she loves going to the lake, watching Netflix, and spending time with her family and boyfriend. Giovanna enjoys learning new skills in her field on a daily basis. 


Heidi began with us October 2019. She is originally from way out west; Los Angeles, California! She is currently attending Vol State and has a dog. In her spare time she enjoys drawing, photography and sleeping. Heidi appreciates the family environment we have here.

Abbie joined our assistant crew June 2020 after first getting her feet wet working in our kennel. She is a Mt Juliet native and is attending Green Hill High School. She has two horses and a bunch of chickens. She is a true outdoors kind of girl and enjoys showing livestock, saddle clubs and barrel racing. Abbie likes the environment here and how we can turn any situation into a learning experience.


Kaitlin began with us October 2020. She is from Hartsville and is currently attending Vol State. She has one cat. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family and boyfriend, go shopping and catch up on Netflix. She enjoys seeing pets everyday and working alongside the nicest co-workers.

Kennel Staff


Tina started working with us in July 2019. She began as a technician and transitioned to the kennel staff and loves it! Most of Tina’s adult life was spent as a restaurant manager, but she wanted to slow down a bit and do something more from the heart. She has six dogs, most of which are rescues. In her spare time she enjoys kayaking, fishing, cooking/baking, and spending time with her two grandsons. Tina likes the companionship with the fourlegged friends in her care, as well as the twolegged ones! 


Cherrianna joined our kennel staff February 2020. She is from Hermitage and was homeschooled. She has a cat and a dog. In her spare time she likes to read, cook/bake and see her friends. The part she enjoys most about working here is socializing with our clients and their pets.


Emma began working in our kennel September 2020. She is a Mt Juliet native and is attending Green Hill High School. She has a dog and a hamster. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, spending time with her pets and playing tennis. Emma is able to learn a lot from the animals while working here.
